There are many search-engine submission programs out there. In fact, Tucows lists 41 search-engine–related programs on its Web Promotion Tools page; hundreds of other relevant downloads pop up with a simple search. They range from site optimizers to verification engines. Users who don't want to mess with software can try Add Me (www.addme.com) or MoreVisibility.com. Microsoft bCentral also has a search-engine submission tool, Submit It!, (www.submit-it.com/) but it costs $49. Of course, if you care only about specific search engines, you can manually add your site with little muss; many companies recommend this method. For example, Lycos (http://home.lycos.com/addasite.html) requires only your URL and e-mail address to add your site, and Google needs only your URL. No site guarantees you'll appear in its lineup, but it's worth a shot.
