MoreVisibility.com gets a
direct feed into Ask Jeeves index
Search engine marketing firm MoreVisibility.com is a new partner
in search engine Ask Jeeve’s Index Express and is now providing paid
inclusion in the Teoma search index, which powers Ask Jeeves, to
retailers and other clients via a direct XML feed.
The XML feed ensures that MoreVisibility’s clients will be
included in Teoma’s index, though it does not guarantee placement in
search results on Ask Jeeves or on Teoma’s own site, Teoma.com.
Teoma, acquired by Ask Jeeves last year, uses advanced search
algorithms to weigh and rank sites in its index in response to
search queries.
Andrew Wetzler, president of MoreVisibility.com, says the XML
feed in combination with Teoma’s advanced search capacities can
greatly shorten the time between getting a web site into the search
index and seeing the site start to show up in search results.
Normally, it may take a search engine spider crawling the web
universe weeks or even months to “find” a web site and index the
content in its database for possible inclusion in search results,
based on relevancy.
Paid inclusion ensures that a site is indexed, while the direct
XML feed delivers site data to the index in such a way that the
search engine can more quickly recognize and grab relevant
information from indexed sites and pages in compiling search
results.
“In some cases we are seeing results in as little as a week,”
says Wetzler. “This program provides MoreVisibility’s clients a
timely method for ensuring their web sites` most updated content and
information is available for qualified web users.”
