Digital Copywriter Job Description:

Boca Raton, FL

The Digital Copywriter will be responsible for creating, editing and optimizing various types of long and short form content such as product/services copy, online articles, blog posts, and possibly some social media copy. The role will primarily focus on the development of marketing and educational web copy for clients in a variety of industries such as healthcare, ecommerce, professional services, and more. Technical writing experience within industries such as software, engineering, finance, and hardware is a plus, but not required. The position reports to our Manager, Content Strategy, and will work closely with our Account Management, Search Engine Optimization, Design & Development, and Social Media teams.

Digital Copywriter Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of your writing in accordance with the given industry, project, and style
  • Conduct self-initiated research to learn about client industries, products or services, and competitors
  • Structure and conduct interviews with subject matter experts from client organizations
  • Write content for each stage of the buyer’s journey, from awareness to conversion
  • Develop content outlines to define what is needed for the comprehensive coverage of subjects
  • Develop creative briefs and copywriting project requirements
  • Generate original content in alignment the strategic needs of each client
  • Develop calendars (editorial, content, and others) and project timelines for your work
  • Edit content and provide constructive guidance to clients and internal team members
  • Optimize various types of web copy to align with user search behavior and intent
  • Interest to learn about SEO and follow best practices when optimizing content to help grow organic traffic and increase desired conversions
  • Use a variety of tools and data to research and select keywords for digital content based on the target audience’s needs as well as the historical performance of the client’s content
  • Provide clients with strategic recommendations to maximize their digital presence through strong online content on their websites
  • Ability to collaborate with designers, developers and other team members for the creation of content that is user friendly and meets the needs of the website
  • Interest in regularly following digital media and SEO trends, as well as staying on top of new changes within the industry


Digital Copywriter Job Requirements

  • Strong command of the English language and grammar
  • Strong editorial eye and attention to detail
  • Ability to write professionally in a variety of styles for diverse audiences and industries – must be able to easily adapt your writing to align with the style, tone and voice of several different clients
  • Ability to present complex topics in an easy-to-understand way
  • Passion for helping organizations within complex industries inform and engage their audience
  • Ability to write compelling content that inspires action
  • Ability to communicate internally to colleagues and externally to clients – via phone, email and during in-person meetings or presentations
  • Prior experience writing digital content
  • SEO experience is preferred
  • Quick learner and creative problem solver
  • Ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Collaborates well with others on group projects to work toward a shared goal
  • Works well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Independent worker; self-motivated to stay on task and can work autonomously when required
