Director of SEO & Content Job Description:

Boca Raton, FL

This position is responsible for leading the operations of our content and technical SEO teams. You will focus on managing the team members responsible for improving client results through growth in organic search KPIs.

As a member of our management team, you will be pivotal in shaping the agency’s overall point-of-view on SEO and content as well as ensuring we are delivering strong results for our clients. While the role is a management position, we believe in a hybrid coach/player role where the majority of the role will be focused on leading the team, but a portion of the role will also be dedicated to maintaining proficiency and expertise working on some client facing projects as well.

The position reports to our Senior Vice President, Digital and will work closely with our Account Management/Client Services team.

Director of SEO & Content Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of and passion for SEO & content as well as educating others on the latest trends, technologies, techniques, and changing landscape
  • Manage, support, motivate, direct and lead SEO and content team members through 1:1 meetings, team meetings, performance reviews, ad-hoc support, and trainings
  • Own and improve (where needed) the overall approach to the agency’s SEO & content program deliverables, structure, flow, and reporting
  • Ensure the team is focused on the right goals for internal and external projects
  • Proactively leads and maintains internal department operations initiatives (S.O.Ps, processes, procedures, tools, etc..)
  • Main point of escalation for team issues and responsible for client issues related to the SEO & content teams
  • Assist the sales team with recommendations on optimal SEO & content program structure and estimating required resources for the program you recommend
  • Overall team resource planning, productivity, and output
  • Oversee the deployment, use of, and relationships with tools to support the SEO & content teams
  • The relationship between the SEO & content teams and the rest of the company as well as identifying opportunities for improved collaboration across teams
  • Regular updates for and accountable to executive team for the performance of the team

 

Director of SEO & Content Job Requirements

  • Prior people management and leadership experience.
  • Experience in leading SEO and content projects from start to finish.
  • Understanding of how search engines work and how that can impact the visibility and performance of a website.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Quick learner and creative problem solver.
  • Ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborates well with others on group projects to work toward a shared goal.
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for helping organizations within a variety of industries (both B2B and B2C from e-commerce to lead generation) inform and engage their audience.
  • Knowledge and prior use of common SEO tools and reporting platforms, to include Google Analytics. Experience with Conductor a plus.
  • Ability to express ideas and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to communicate internally to colleagues and externally to clients – via phone, email and during meetings or presentations.
  • Agency experience is preferred.

Compensation & Location

This is a permanent, full-time position. We offer a hybrid working environment, with some time working from our office in Boca Raton, FL. There may be limited travel within the U.S. needed, for client meetings or events.

Some of the interviews and portions of onboarding/training may be conducted virtually.
