In the past few months, Google has been launching free services left and right.
On July 3rd, Google announced that Feedburner Stats PRO, a feed-analytics program now owned by Google, is completely free for everyone.
Feedburner is a distribution service, specifically for Blogs and RSS feeds. Feedburner’s web-based tools help bloggers across the internet promote and develop their content quickly and extremely easily.
As of July 3rd, you can now view advanced statistics and analytics for all of your feeds for Free. This is a big announcement, as it will no doubt help blog and RSS feed publishers target the right audiences, and the exact groups of people who want to read or view a publisher’s material. Previously, Feedburner’s Stats PRO and MyBrand services were available for a monthly fee of USD $5.00.
A month ago, Google launched Google Gears, which is an open source browser extension that enables web applications to provide offline functionality for different JavaScript API’s for developers and programmers alike.
Two months ago, Google opened up GOOG-411, which is a free, voice activated telephone service that lets you search for businesses and get connected to those businesses. The phone number is 1-800-466-4411, and, if using a mobile phone, say “map it” at any point during the call to receive a text message with the details of your search, plus a link to map your results to Google Maps.
Google is also constantly releasing new and improved gadgets for iGoogle — Google’s personalized homepage service. Add weather and calendar updates to your customizable Google homepage, as well as Tips of the Day, How-to’s of the day, and games, puzzles, or current news.
