Black Friday and Cyber Monday – How Will You Compete?

Both online retailers and shoppers wait with great anticipation for these sacred two days to roll around, and for very good reason; Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the biggest online shopping days of the year and as a retailer, you do not want to disappoint!  On the flip side, as a shopper, you do not want to be disappointed! The expectations are huge. What kind of promotions have you got up your sleeve? How will you compete with all of the retailers who will be aggressively marketing their websites? The answer is really simple: By advertising offers that are too good to pass up! Below are just a few of the most popular tried and true offers that statistically perform well year after year.

HINT: Be sure to include coupon codes in your ad copy. They work wonders in terms of tracking which ads/offers performed best.

Exclusive Time Sensitive Promos. Sort of like an “early bird gets the worm” deal. For example: 6 am to noon special savings. Most retailers make these the biggest offers of the day. Be sure to specify time zones.

Free Shipping. This one is a biggie, perhaps the biggest and shoppers have come to expect it. If you do not offer it year round you should definitely do so for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Sales will likely be lost otherwise.

Site Wide Discounts. Also a big one and very common. It gives your shoppers the freedom to purchase whatever they want and receive a nice savings.

Free Gift with Purchase. A great incentive – especially around the holidays. Shoppers are getting another gift they can either keep for themselves (if they are greedy, ha ha) or give to someone else.

Free Gift Wrap. Shoppers love this. Gift wrapping can be tedious and cumbersome and many wait until the night before to get it all done. This way — they get their gift shipped and wrapped. What could be better?

Take advantage of these two huge shopping days and capitalize on the increase in traffic and sales. Happy Holidays!

Just a Few Days Left Till Santa!

If you’re an Online Retailer, you should be quite busy right now. Fulfilling all web orders, ensuring your inventory is stocked, shipping in time for Christmas and handling any customer service issues. If you aren’t busy, something is very wrong! I encourage you to take a step back and evaluate your online marketing efforts. This is pretty much “do or die time” for Ecommerce websites and also a huge opportunity to get a boost of revenue from holiday sales.

So how can you ensure that you’re doing all you can to maximize any holiday sales looming out there in cyber world? Here are a few tips that can be implemented rather quickly:

Send out an email blast to your client base with a captivating subject.
Examples: It’s Not Too Late To Shop For Xmas! There’s Still Time To Shop For Gifts! Beat The Cold With Free Shipping! Special Holiday Discounts For Repeat Customers! Free Gift Card With Every Purchase!

Offer an additional incentive within your Ad Copy. Examples: 15% Off, Free Shipping and Coupon Codes (which are a great way to lure visitors to your site and can be easily tracked) will make your ad copy stand out more.

Get the point? Don’t be left out in the cold by your competition. Check out what they are offering by doing some searching of your own. Your loyal customers deserve to get rewarded for their loyalty and everyone can use a little holiday cheer!

The Holidays Will Be Here Before You Know It!

Yeah, I realize it’s only the third week in September, but before you know it, the holiday season will be upon is. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you have plenty of time to get your online marketing campaigns into top shape for the upcoming holiday season! It is not too early to start strategizing.
 
Below are some ideas and tips to capitalize on holiday sales:

 

  • Bid more aggressively in an effort to appear in the top real estate of the engines.
  • Bid on your branded terms if you are not already doing so.
  • Do not let competitors snatch away your shoppers!
  • Do some investigating; what is your competition bidding on?
  • Shoppers love free shipping. Offer this perk whenever possible.
  • Send out a holiday blast to your existing database offering loyalty discounts.
  • A seamless return policy is critical, especially when it comes to gift giving.
  • Offer online only specials to entice shoppers to buy holiday gifts on your site.
  • A free gift with purchase makes an already good value even better!
  • Provide free gift wrap. What a convenient luxury for online shoppers!
  • Create compelling holiday ad copy, with clear calls to action: Buy Now, Free Shipping, Free Gift With Purchase, Free Gift Wrap, etc.
  • Guarantee delivery BEFORE the holidays, even if you charge more for this option. Last minute shoppers still exist in large numbers!
  • Ensure that your site is 100% secure. Shoppers want to feel safe and protected when giving their credit card information.
