Regular Expressions (also known as Regex in Google Analytics and Tag Manager) can help save time and include/ exclude data from your reports.
Regex is now supported in Google Data Studio. However, there are few changes to Regex that classifies it as RE2. RE2 was designed to be faster and more secure.
In this post I will provide you with a few Regex examples that we have created for Google Data Studio and a few differences we have noticed when compared to regular Regex.
When someone visits your site or completes an action that is known as a conversion. In Google Analytics a conversion is typically credited to the last action that took place.
For example when someone does a Search for your company, or another website Refers to your website, or an Ad was clicked on, those last interactions get the credit for the conversion.
When creating a dashboard within Google Analytics you have the option of adding widgets and graphs to visualize your data. Although dashboards in Google Analytics can be very helpful, they don’t always render with as much excitement as in Google Data Studio.
